When I made my logo i tried to avoid the cliche and make it original. The only thing I used that my group did was the taco outline. I made the eyes and the mouth and crown using my own shapes. I believe you shouldnt use the ideas of others but the only way you should use it is if you change it enough so its not copyright and so the original image can not be recognized.
I like how you used the quickselection tool to color in your taco. I think that that taco is copyrighted. I would improve by making the crown more visible.
